DMV Spotlight shines a light on Special Olympics Virginia Plane Pull on September 11, 2022.
Guest Ellen Head, Senior Director of Development explains the Dulles Plane Pull is again open to the public as a fundraiser for the programs to support local athletes with intellectual disabilities. Head explains that working in teams of 24 and using a rope , the teams actually pull either a Fed Ex or United plane.
Head also explains the added challenge for Special Olympics athletes brought by the isolation of the pandemic.
Special Olympics Virginia enjoys the support of local law enforcement and several other events as fundraisers include the Polar Plunge and the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
