Milwaukee Brewers first baseman/outfielder Jake Bauers fractured his right big toe from a foul ball on Monday night in a 3-0 loss to host San Francisco.
Bauers, 30, is getting a follow-up MRI/CT to determine a timeline for his return.
He fouled a 3-2 pitch from Giants starter Tyler Mahle in the fifth inning and grounded out on the next pitch. Bauers was replaced in right field by Luis Lara in the seventh inning.
Bauers is batting a career-best .265 with a team-high 18 home runs as well as 60 RBIs, a .370 on-base percentage and .486 slugging percentage in 97 regular-season games.
For his career, Bauers is batting .220 with 76 homers and 271 RBIs in 712 games for Tampa Bay (2018), Cleveland (2019, 2021), Seattle (2021), the New York Yankees (2023) and Milwaukee (2024-present).
