Michigan swingman Franz Wagner declared for the 2021 NBA draft on Tuesday.The 6-foot-9, 220-pound sophomore from Germany averaged 12.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 28 starts for the Wolverines in 2020-21.Wagner made his announcement in “A Letter to My Michigan Family” published by The Players’ Tribune.”Playing in the NBA has been a big dream of mine,” he wrote, in part. “It’s something I’ve been working extremely hard for. And after talking with my coaches and my family, I know it’s something I’m ready for. From a basketball perspective, this is the move for me to make right now.”Wagner started 55 consecutive games for Michigan and finished his career with 661 points, 334 rebounds and 33 games with double-digit points. He made the All-Big Ten second team in 2020-21 and the Big Ten All-Freshman squad in 2019-20.
