Ross Colton scored the eventual game-winner as the Nashville Predators edged the visiting St. Louis Blues 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Steven Stamkos scored and added an assist, and Nick Perbix also scored for the Predators, extending their winning streak to four games and posting points in seven of eight (5-1-2).
Roman Josi chipped in a pair of assists, and Juuse Saros made 25 saves for his 12th career victory against the Blues.
Jimmy Snuggerud replied for St. Louis and Joel Hofer stopped 26 shots for the Blues, who have dropped three in a row (0-2-1) and are 3-6-1 on the road this season.
St. Louis concluded its four-game road trip 1-2-1.
Colton gave Nashville its first lead of the game, snapping a Jack Drury pass from the slot past a screened Hofer for his fifth of the season at 9:02 of the middle frame.
Perbix added insurance with 1:29 remaining in the third, scoring into an empty net for his second of the season.
The two teams were tied 1-1 after 20 minutes.
St. Louis opened the scoring on a power play at 13:07 as Snuggerud one-timed a Philip Broberg feed short side past Saros for his ninth of the season.
The Predators responded three minutes later on a power play as Broberg’s clearing attempt wound up on Stamkos’ stick, and the Nashville forward easily beat Hofer with a wide-open net for his team-leading 10th of the season.
With the tally, Stamkos (248) passed Luc Robitaille (247) for the fifth-most power-play goals in NHL history.
Josi’s two assists moved him one point shy of 800 in his career. The Predators captain, who has a team-leading 18 helpers, can become the first Swiss player and fifth defenseman born outside of North America to reach the milestone.
Saturday was the second of four meetings this season between the Central Division rivals. Predators topped the Blues 5-2 on Oct. 17.
