NASCAR indefinitely suspended a 23XI Racing staffer after she was charged with assaulting a 77-year-old man with a golf cart last weekend in Charlotte, N.C.
Evanna Daneen Howell, 35, was arrested Saturday at Charlotte Motor Speedway and charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon leading to serious injury.
She was released on a $125,000 bond following a court appearance on Tuesday. Her next court appearance in Cabarrus County is June 16.
Details of the alleged assault on Dennis Manchester were not immediately available.
Howell works as a senior account manager at 23XI Racing, co-owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan.
Officials at 23XI Racing and NASCAR have not issued any statements.
NASCAR announced the suspension in its weekly penalty report on Wednesday, calling it a “behavioral” matter.
