A right leg injury will keep St. Louis Blues leading goal scorer Jake Neighbours out of action for more than a month.
Neighbours, 23, was placed on injured reserve Tuesday after suffering the injury in Saturday’s 6-4 road loss to the Detroit Red Wings. St. Louis’ first-round pick (No. 26) in the 2020 NHL Draft sat out a 6-3 setback at the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday.
In eight games this season, Neighbours has six goals and seven points, the latter which is tied for the team lead. He is scheduled to be re-evaluated in five weeks.
The Calgary, Alberta, native has posted 103 points (62 goals, 41 assists) in 219 regular-season games with St. Louis. In seven postseason games, he has compiled six points (one goal, five assists).
St. Louis didn’t immediately make a corresponding roster move.
