Chase Young Will Not Play in Week 10 Match-Up Against Eagles

By: Wardell McCabe

Commanders fans will have to wait at least one more week before the season debut of defensive end Chase Young.

NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reported Monday morning that the Washington Commanders would not be activating Young off of the physically unable to perform list in time for the team’s Monday Night Football clash against their division rival Philadelphia Eagles.

The franchise activated Young’s 21-day practice window on November 2nd, meaning that if he is not activated before their Week 11 game against the Houston Texans, he will be placed on injured reserved for the remainder of the season.

Rapoport does note, however, that the Commanders’ front office does not believe that Young is in any danger of not being activated.

Young has not appeared in a game since tearing his ACL, in the season finale of the 2020 season against the Eagles.
