Holy Cross hires Marquette assistant Nelson as coach

Marquette assistant coach Brett Nelson, a former standout player at Florida, was named head coach at Holy Cross on Wednesday.Nelson, 38, replaces Bill Carmody, who retired last month. Carmody went 58-73 in four seasons with the Crusaders.”Holy Cross has a rich basketball history while being one of the best academic institutions in the entire country,” Nelson said in a press release. “I’m eager to lead our student-athletes, and, together, we will work relentlessly to reach new heights as a program.”
