DMV Spotlight on 10.27.2019 shines a light on the Northern Virginia Veterans Parade. Now in it’s 11th year, the Northern Virginia Veterans Parade honors all veterans and their families. Guest Matthew Hallinan, a Marine veteran and advocate is the president of the parade which runs on Saturday, Nov 2nd at 11am in Old Town Manassas. This year’s parade is dedicated to Navy Seal, Lt. Michael Murphy, whose heroism was depicted in the book and movie, “Lone Survivor”. In addition, the Grand Marshall of the Northern Virginia Veterans Parade this year is Robert Tyrell, a Navy Vet who served in WW2 and one of the founders of the Prince William County Fair. Guest Matthew Hallinan also described the increasing number of participants in the parade and shared his passion for honoring all US veterans: past, present and future.
